Curry Kirkpatrick
Senior Merger & Acquisition Specialist/Alliance Partner
Curry Kirkpatrick is managing principal of C.W. Kirkpatrick & Associates, one of the most experienced Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) consulting firms serving the A/E/C industry today. With over twenty-five years of continuous service to architects, engineers and construction-related firms, CWK has successfully worked on M&A assignments across the country and internationally, representing both Buyers and Sellers. And since Mergers & Acquisitions are one of the most effective ways of facilitating strategic growth externally, forming an Alliance with INVISION was a logical move. CWK specializes in external growth through M&A, while Invision specializes in helping clients grow internally/externally through Research and other growth-focused positioning initiatives – it’s a “best of the best” combination of expertise aimed at facilitating the strategic growth of A/E/C firms.
“The first time I saw an example of Invision’s research capabilities, I was amazed! Their work product is better than anything I have ever seen – it is a “no brainer” decision to include them as part of our M&A team and be an integral part of their M&A team”
Curry’s extensive M&A experience has included buyer-side assignments for some of the industry’s largest firms, from search strategy, through identification of potential acquisition candidates, initial contact and negotiations. He has advised numerous ENR Top 500 design firms. Representing prospective sellers is also a major part of his business - over the years CWK, Inc. has facilitated transactions for numerous small to mid-size firms located throughout the United States. Exposure to the needs and expectations of both buyer’s and seller’s has given Curry a unique ability to help the parties reach common ground on even the most sensitive issues. International experience has also contributed to Curry’s well-rounded M&A expertise. Past assignments have included working with firms in the UK, Germany, South Africa and Mexico. His special interest in the “cultural” challenges associated with mergers & acquisitions is particularly applicable on international assignments.
Curry has been a resource speaker and author on Mergers & Acquisitions for such noted industry groups and publications as Engineering News Record (ENR), ACEC, Civil Engineering Magazine, A/E Business Review, AGC, Constructor Magazine, AGCC, PSMA, and is co-author of PSMJ Resources’ book: How to Sell an A/E Firm.
